Marked "white" on the box, it is now off-white. Made of a combination of "Nylon, Acetate and Dupont's Lycra Spandex" (as it says on the box), with a smooth satin panel on the center back. Decorative gold stitching interspersed with the white seam down the center front; small decorative white satin bow at the bottom of the waistband. 15 from top of waistband to bottom of hem.
The box, in very good condition, shows a cute, sassy, active, young Mid-Century Modern woman enjoying the freedom of a comfortable girdle! The same image is on the still-attached tag. Shortie girdle, according to the box.
The waistline with'no roll' wide elastic waistband.. The secret is in the unique X criss-cross-over panel. Never shifts, curls or rides up. Powered with Dupont Lycra Spandex. Hi X follows your figure, yet never restricts or confines your legs bending, stretching, twisting or turning.Hi X washes with ease in mild lukewarm suds... Rinses in clear cool water... Drip dries in a breeze (away from heat). The "Hi-X" design was patented in 1959 by Inventor Anne Marie Lobbenberg, Attorney. US patent #: 2,875,8766.
See photo of patent illustration. NOTE: The patent illustration is NOT INCLUDED IN THE LOT.My theory is that this girdle was bought for a teenage girl by her mother or grandmother. From a smoke-free, pet-free home.
